In this Plant Medicine Immersion, students will dive into the world of our green friends and allies and learn about different branches of Herbal Medicine!
We will cover different herbal realms such as: Forest Medicine, Exotic Elixirs, Aromatic Medicines, Garden Medicines, and more. In each session, we will learn 5-10 plants, create plant medicines, and explore different aspects of our health including the immune system, longevity, vitality, stability of the mind and emotions, injury treatment and prevention, and treating common ailments such as colds, flus, and digestive upset.
By the end of the course students will have a solid foundation in herbal medicine to care for themselves, their friends and their family for common illnesses. Each class will also include qigong movement, awareness and meditation exercises, and small group work.
The philosophy and underlying viewpoint of this class will draw primarily from Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, as well as Native North American and European Herbal traditions. However, it will be presented in a way that is easy to understand and incorporate.
For this 9-month course, classes will be on one Saturday a month at Hawthorne Farm, 17340 Northeast 195th Street, Woodenville, WA 98072. The planned dates for the class are September 29, October 20, Dec 8, January 12, February 9, March 30, April 27, May 18, and June 1st.
